This trip I intended to go solo — just me, my journal, and the sea. I arrived, set up, and in the first hour I felt the noise of everyday life begin to fade. Without distractions, I rediscovered small joys: early morning coffee on my picnic table, watching pelicans glide overhead, gentle breezes carrying salt and warmth.

I spent hours reading, napping, writing. I sketched the waterline from the pier. For meals I kept it simple (omelet wraps, grilled chicken salad, fruit). One night I sat on the pier, opened a thermos of hot tea, and just listened.

I felt grounded, recharged. Sometimes a vacation isn’t about what you do but what you allow yourself to become again — calm, present, quiet.
