I brought my two young kids along, and Blue Lagoons quickly became their playground. We splashed in the pool, played games in the clubhouse, and spent hours building sandcastles on nearby beaches.
One evening we did a “taco night”: ground beef (or beans for a vegetarian version), taco seasoning, chopped tomato, lettuce, cheese — all in tortilla shells. The kids got messy with salsa and chips. After dinner we strolled to the pier for glow sticks and tried to catch minnows in jars (quickly releasing them).
We also drove to a nearby aquarium or marine center (in Rockport area) where the youngsters loved seeing fish, rays, and sea turtles. On our last night, the kids roasted marshmallows and told ghost stories by the fire. Their laughter made the trip magical.
